African stock exchanges operate in different countries and regions. Each provides a marketplace where investors can buy and sell shares in publicly traded companies. Some serve one country; others serve neighboring countries together.

Let's explore some African stock exchanges.

Search by country or region, and open an exchange's official website to learn more.

How can several countries share an exchange?

Eight West African countries share the Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières (BRVM): Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and Togo. Six Central African countries share the Bourse des Valeurs Mobilières de l’Afrique Centrale (BVMAC): Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon.
